The core premise is that the entire game is “the snow level”, a casual social multiplayer experience, all in a festive Christmassy package. Players join one of two teams: Team Fir (Free Insurgent Army), whose characters include anthropomorphized animals native to the arctic region, like the Canada Lynx – Team Fae (Festive Army of the Empire), whose characters include mythical creatures drawn from European folklore, like Elves. Each team competes to fill their “Cheer” meter by first decorating and then maintaining control over objectives on the map. The first team to reach the target Cheer threshold wins the match.

Plot Synopsis

For generations, the Elves have held a monopoly of knowledge on “Yuletide Cheer”, using it to shape and create the world around them, at the expense and subjugation of the native animals. This hierarchical system produced not only great prosperity for the Elven kingdoms, but also a vast wallow of destitution for the animals, forming a vast underground network of gangs, black market syndicates, … and revolutionary cells.

This state of affairs erupted from a mere rebellion to outright revolution as scores of these groups coalesced under the banner of the Free Insurgent Republicans, dedicated to the overthrow of the Elven kingdoms in favor of a truly free republic. With Fir insurgents widespread, and many Elven kings, nobles, and other despots being assassinated, obliterated, eliminated, the mighty federal monarchy fractured into anarchy and chaos.

But although the federation had fractured, many Elven loyalists still clung to the old order they called a desideratum, and with magical Cheer, declared a new regime enforced under the control of the Festive Army of the Empire, formed from Elves, magical and enchanted beasties, and all those who denounced Fir.

With Fir and Fae now locked in conflict, fighting over scraps of land, and attempting to gain Cheer’s favor to destroy the other, it is now up to theater of war and her beloved battlefield: cold and formidable, she will decide the victor and the future.
